Renting a dumpster is one of the things that makes people feel overwhelmed- but it shouldn't! While they're convenient to have during a remodel or while doing a major construction job, renting one during spring cleaning is also a really great idea. In fact, here are three great reasons to rent a dumpster or roll off container the next time you are doing some spring cleaning.

1. It's motivating. When you start to clean out the garage or a storage shed in your backyard, too often the garbage can fills up and you have to stop. You might think that you will get back to it after the garbage can has been picked up, but it usually takes longer than that. When you actually start a job and have a dumpster on site, you have the motivation to get it done faster. The process for renting a dumpster is often done in time increments, like a day or a week. This gives you a hard deadline for cleaning out your junk. If you have the space to get rid of more, you usually will too.

2. It reduces your hassle. If you don't own a truck or a trailer to put all of your junk in to take to the dump, you have extra work to get the job done. You can rent a truck and a trailer, borrow one from a friend, or bum space off the neighbor's trailer when they take a load, but this is all extra work and cost for you. When you rent a dumpster, it is delivered to your yard and dumped when you're done. Also, since city trash containers don't usually allow trees, shrubs, and play sets to be dumped, you don't have to spend your time sorting; the dumpster can hold all of it.

3. It is less expensive. If you've ever gotten sticker shock when looking to rent a dumpster, there are several things to keep in mind. First of all, the price is usually a little less than taking a bunch of loads to the local dump and paying for the weight. If you worry about filling up your dumpster enough to make it worth it, you can always split the cost with your neighbors and let them fill up their junk too. This not only alleviates some of the cost, but it also makes you neighbor of the week!
