Jay Pickett
originated the role of Frank Scanlon,the complicated older brother
of Joe, on the ABC Daytime drama, Port Charles. In Pickett's skilled
hands, Frank has been transformed from an average medical technician
to a complex and driven figure. Frank's animosity towards those
who get in his way makes for a volatile and unpredictable blend
of mystery and danger.
Pickett was born
in Spokane, Washington, and grew up in Caldwell, Idaho. He received
his B.A. degree in acting at Boise State University, and his M.F.A.
in acting from UCLA, and appeared in numerous theatrical productions
at both schools.
His first professional
role was as a guest star on the television miniseries, Rags to Riches.
Other television credits include China Beach, Mr. Belvedere, Dragnet,
Jake and the Fatman , Days of Our Lives, Perry Mason and Matlock.
Married with two
daughters and a son, Mr. Pickett resides in the Los Angeles area.
He enjoys most sports, including football, basketball, baseball
and skiing. He is also an expert roper and western rider.
